Winter price

As is standard our winter price begins on the 01 October to cover the additional costs of heating and laundry that every winter brings.

This year we have set it at £24.50 per day.

Please read below for further information and our reasons why.

In June this year we had to register for VAT and increased the prices by 10% to help cover it, covering the other 10% ourselves. Unfortunately we can not continue to do this as we enter into the winter season, as the heating goes on and our washing machine and tumble dryer are running permanently as the dogs get wet and muddy, we are changing bedding sometimes 3 times a day, and towel drying soggy dogs after wet walks.

We have had a good, hard look at our operating model, to see if we can make savings to cover inflationary led rises - but in all honesty there is nothing.

Since taking over the business, we have invested time and money in our kennel block, replacing doors, wire, frames, and we are halfway through rolling out new flooring. Toys and mats are now in every kennel and dogs are exercised three times a day - more than previously. And there is still lots more to do.

We are a small team, and those of you that know us, know that we all know your dogs really well because of the amount of time we spend with them. We love their licks, daft dashes, waggy tails, cuddles, field zoomies, and when they make friends with us and the other dogs here. 

We looked to see if there was a way to reduce the labour costs without changing what we do, and the only way we could do it, was to reduce the level of care and exercise that we give. We won't do this.

We looked at other similar business and our nearest competitor offers day care at £25 a day, dog walkers are charging anything between £15-£30 for half an hours walk and other kenneling prices across Cornwall are between £20-£35. We feel we are offering good value for money and the very best care for your pets.

For all existing and future bookings, from 1st October 2024, our new price structure will be:-

£24.50 (inc VAT) per dog per day - 10% off for two dogs sharing. 

We appreciate that some of you may wish to cancel future bookings and we will truly be sorry to lose you and your four-legged friends. We hope that the majority of you will stick with us and understand why we've had to do it.
